About Dreckly

What does Dreckly mean?

It's a Cornish word that something will happen in its own good time. In a world that demands 'now,' we choose 'dreckly.' It's our invitation to you to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment without the rush.

Are all members and hosts women-only?

Our community is a women-centred space, with membership open to women only. The majority of our events are hosted and guided by women, however, we may occasionally welcome male experts, guides, or speakers when their unique skills, experience, or perspective complement the event. Our focus always remains on creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering space where our members feel supported and connected

What kinds of events do you run?

We run a range of experiences, including; local day hikes, weekend retreats, creative workshops, and international journeys. Each one, is designed to blend adventure, creativity, and connection in a way that feels intentional and unhurried.

Where do your events take place?

Most of our events take place across Cornwall, and our retreats and trips abroad take us further afield.

What is the Dreckly Passport?

The Dreckly Passport is a beautiful physical keepsake available for purchase in our shop. Get it stamped at every event you attend a tangible record of every adventure, every brave step, and every memory made. Yours to keep for years.

How do I become a host?

We'd love to hear from you! Head to our Work with us page and register your interest.

Do you run private events?

Yes, we do! If you have an idea, please get in touch.

Coming along

Who comes to your events?

We welcome women of all ages, and Dreckly is a space for everyone. While many of our members are in their 20s to 50s, we're always happy to meet women of any age who feel drawn to getting out, trying new things, and meeting like-minded people.

I've never travelled solo before, is this right for me?

Absolutely. In fact, this is exactly why Dreckly Wild Women was created. You don't need to be experienced or fearless, just curious. Our groups are small and intentional, and every experience is designed so that you can arrive solo but never feel alone.

What if I'm nervous about not knowing anyone?

That feeling is completely normal and you won't be the only one who arrives feeling it. Our experiences are designed to make connection feel natural and easy. By the end of the first walk or shared meal, you'll wonder why you ever hesitated.

Are your events safe for women travelling alone?

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our groups are small and every experience is thoughtfully hosted by experienced guides and leaders who know the routes, the terrain, and how to create a space where everyone feels supported. We'll always share everything you will need to feel prepared and confident before you arrive.

What fitness level do I need?

It depends on the experience. We offer three levels across our adventures - Gentle & Grounded, Steady & Strong, and Wild & Empowered - so there's always something that fits where you are right now. Every event clearly states the distance, terrain, and expected level, so you can choose with confidence. If you're unsure, just ask us.

  • Gentle & Grounded: shorter loops of up to around 4 miles (about 2 hours). Mostly easy-going, but may include some short, steep sections.
  • Steady & Strong: around 4–7 miles (3–4 hours), with regular hills and steeper stretches of coast path.
  • Wild & Empowered: 7 miles and over (half a day or more), with sustained climbs and challenging terrain.
How big are your groups?

We keep our groups small usually no more than 12-16 women. This is really important to us. Smaller groups mean a much more personal experience for everyone.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, of course! They'll just need to be a Dreckly Wild Women member too.

Is there a minimum age?

Our minimum age is 18.

I have an injury, disability or health condition. Can I join?

Yes, absolutely. If you're unsure whether an event is right for you, just send us a message.

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, we don't allow dogs on our walks.

On the day

What should I wear or bring on a walk?

Cornish weather can change quickly, so check the forecast before you set off and come prepared. We recommend sturdy, comfortable walking shoes or boots, layers and a waterproof jacket, water, snacks and sun cream, and any medication you might need.

Walk at your own pace, and please let your host know about any medical conditions before you start. You're responsible for your own kit and wellbeing on the day, so please read our terms and conditions before booking.

What happens if the weather's bad?

Your safety comes first. We'll make an assessment on the day, and if we need to change or cancel, we'll let you know as soon as possible.

I don't drive. Can I still come?

That's no problem at all. We often encourage lift-sharing in the group chat, and people are always happy to offer a lift.

Can you cater for dietary needs?

We can cater for dietary requirements, but it depends on the event. Please send us your questions if you have any concerns.

Will photos be taken, and can I opt out?

Photos are taken at every event, but it's always your choice whether you're in them. When you book, there's a box to tick if you're happy to be photographed for our website and social media.

Events & booking

How do I hear about new events?

New events are listed on our website, but if you're in our community chats, you'll get first notice when new events come through.

Do events sell out? Is there a waitlist?

Most of our events do sell out! Once an event is sold out online, you'll find a form to join the waitlist.

What is included in the price of an event?

Each event listing clearly outlines exactly what's included; accommodation, meals, activities, and transport where relevant. We'll never leave you guessing. If you have a specific question about an event, just drop us a message.

What is your cancellation policy?

Tickets are non-refundable, as our events are small and places are limited. If you can't make it, you can transfer your booking to another Dreckly member with at least 14 days' notice. If we ever need to cancel an event, we'll offer you a full refund, or the option to move your booking to another event. Retreats and trips abroad have their own terms, which you'll find on each trip page.

You can read our full cancellation policy in our Terms and Conditions.

If you have specific concerns before booking, please get in touch and we'll always do our best to help.

Supper & Brunch Club

How do Supper Club and Brunch Club work?

They're one of our most loved events! You book your ticket in advance, then members vote in our group chat for the location and restaurant. It's a fun little perk for our Dreckly members, so you get to help shape the event.

Where are they held?

We like to mix it up across Cornwall, so they're at different locations each time. The location is chosen by our members and is always kept offline, so you'll find out in the group chat once you've booked.

How many people come?

They're capped at 15 people, so they always feel relaxed and sociable.

How quickly do they sell out?

They always sell out as soon as they go live! Being in our community chats means you'll get first notice when new dates are released.

Membership

Is the £15 membership a subscription?

No. It's a one-off £15 payment, not a subscription. Pay once and you're in for life.

What memberships do you offer?

The Community membership is your entry point into everything Dreckly, a one-time payment that gives you lifetime access to our private WhatsApp group and the ability to attend all events.

Do I need a membership to attend events?

Yes, a Dreckly Community membership (£15 one-off) is required to attend any Dreckly event. It's how we keep our spaces safe and intentional. Pay once and you're in for life.

Can I come to events without being a member?

To attend any of our events, you'll need to be a Community Member — it's a one-time £15 fee that gives you access to everything we offer. If you book an event ticket without one, we'll simply ask you to add the membership too.

What is the WhatsApp community?

It's our private WhatsApp group, where members connect, chat and find out what's coming up. You get lifetime access when you join as a Community member.

What happens after I join?

You'll receive an email with instructions for joining our WhatsApp community. Once you've agreed to the terms and conditions, you'll be given access to the chats. We have group chats for different events, plus a main chat where we love getting to know everyone, so feel free to introduce yourself!

Can I buy a membership as a gift?

Absolutely! We have gift cards in our shop. Membership makes a lovely gift for someone who might not treat themselves, and you can gift a workshop too.

Trips abroad

Can I join a trip abroad if I don't live in Cornwall?

Yes. Our trips abroad are open to women wherever they're based, and you're so welcome to come on your own.

Are your trips women-only?

Yes, our trips are always women-only. Some trips are run with our travel partners, so you may also meet women who booked with them directly.

Is every trip a hiking trip?

Not at all. As well as hiking adventures, we're planning relaxing farm stays, retreats and more, so there's something for every pace.

How do I book, and can I pay in instalments?

Each trip page explains how to book. Trips run with our travel partner Trailmates Adventures offer payment plans, with a deposit and instalments. For other trips, the trip page will explain the payment options.
